burn down the curtain | Die IGVW Flammprobe @ Safety in action on stage
Mai 17 um 10:45 – Jun 18 um 11:45

The IGVW Flmam Sample results from the SQP7 Dekobau and is aimed at manufacturers and users of decorations and describes the procedure for testing materials in the field of decorative construction. The tests according to this procedure serve to determine the behaviour of flammable materials when flamed with a hand burner under defined test conditions.
The test method is suitable for assessing the flammability of materials and material combinations in event technology (e.g. in decorative construction) by typical ignition sources such as those found in event technology (e.g. spotlights, pyrotechnics).
Furthermore, the test result can be used to assess the fire behaviour (contribution to the fire) of the materials.

The test procedure is presented live and addresses technical directors, workshop managers and stage craftsmen.

Air acrobatics | Fall protection on the swing trapeze @ Safety in action on stage
Jun 18 um 12:00 – 13:00

With the Staatliche Ballettschule Berlin and the Schule für Artistik, a long-standing partner will again be present on the Safety in Action stage. This year the focus of Jens Becker’s presentation will be the fall protection on the Schwungtrapez. This live presentation will be complemented by a specialist lecture on the physiotherapeutic treatment of artists by Andreas Stommel, board member of tamed Tanzmedizin Deutschland e.V..

Safety First – Basic safety requirement for mechanical equipment using a 2D point hoist system @ Safety in action on stage
Jun 18 um 13:00 – 14:00

The stage as a workplace is characterised by the fact that it is necessary and scenically intended to work under suspended and moving loads. In order not to endanger the health of the actors and employees, various safety functions have proven themselves over time. It is particularly important for all drives to be stopped when several mechanical devices are involved in a movement at the same time. SBS uses a compact 2D airframe to show basic safety functions, their components and mode of operation.

High Speed Performer Flying by Waagner-Biro @ Safety in action on stage

Speaker: Johannes Marxen (Waagner Biro),

Measure the dynamics of the fall @ Safety in action on stage
Jun 18 um 15:00 – 16:00

The DGUV 17 formulates in §9 load-bearing and slinging equipment the requirements for these in such a way that they have to be appropriate to the particular hazards during operation and the loads occurring during operation and adequately dimensioned. What actually happens if something goes wrong and the machinery of a technical stage equipment has to be brought to a standstill in different stop categories?

Then dynamic forces act, which are explained in this presentation and measured on a model. In addition, possibilities for safe handling of these loads are presented.

Speaker: Volker Kirsch (Bosch Rexroth)

D8 Plus electric chain hoist | an all-rounder of a special case @ Safety in action on stage
Jun 18 um 16:00 – 17:00

Although the designations for the rules and regulations of the trade association have changed in recent years, the designation D8 Plus electric chain hoist has been able to assert itself on the market. This is an indicator for the manifold use of these electric chain hoists equipped with an additional brake, which in daily use may only be loaded with half the original specified load capacity.

With the exception of the brakes, the D8 Plus electric chain hoist is thus dimensioned according to the principle of intrinsic safety and the use of the second brake fulfils the requirements of the single fault safety principle. The D8 Plus electric chain hoist can therefore be used to hold loads above persons without secondary securing and is an indispensable component of the daily work above the heads of visitors and employees.

The various application possibilities of the D8 Plus electric chain hoists will be presented live and in colour with a truss joint and the motor control required for the application.

Speaker: Torsten Simsch (cast C.Adolph & RST Distribution GmbH),

fire protection dialogue @ Safety in action on stage
Jun 19 um 17:00 – 18:00

Fire protection at events is one of the major tasks for every safety officer. At the Fire Protection Dialogue 2019, the planned IGVW testing of materials in the field of decorative construction will be the focus of the dialogue. The tests according to this procedure serve to determine the behaviour of flammable materials when flamed with a hand burner under defined test conditions. The test method is suitable for assessing the flammability of materials and material combinations in event technology (e.g. in decorative construction) through typical ignition sources such as those found in event technology (e.g. headlights, pyrotechnics). Furthermore, the test result can be used to assess the fire behaviour (contribution to the fire) of the materials.

This test method will therefore also be presented live and in colour on all three days on the Safety in Action stage with real flammability tests.

The considerations are presented professionally and evaluated in the context of the valid building regulations.
